Job Description:
The organisation is looking for permanent employee to join our drawing office. The successful candidate will be part of the team tasked with the design and production drawings for all systems related aspects on our yachts. The work ranges from systems schematics, engine room design, drive train arrangement, electric system installation, pipe run optimization, etc.

This post is based at our manufacturing site in Athlone Industria, Cape Town.

Job Accountabilities and Responsabilities
Regularly reporting to the Drawing Office Supervisor, the successful incumbent will:

• • Be in close relation with Technical Coordinator
  • Take into account specifications and keep updated on rules and regulations
  • Be force of proposals to decision makers
  • Produce 3D models of systems on board (i.e. engine room, wires, pipes, drains, AC..) using SolidWorks
  • Use 3D models to check interaction with interior and structure
  • Produce 2D production drawing
  • Produce schematics for systems
  • Liaise with sub-contractors and designer to insure design integration

CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:
BEng / BSc Engineering degree. Experience in yacht industry is a very strong plus 

Experience/Technical:
5+ years’ experience working in mechanical systems within the marine industry.
Experience in 3D parametric model (SolidWorks or equivalent) and 2D drawings (Autocad or equivalent) is required.
Practical sailing Experience is a plus.
