Location:
Athlone Industria, Cape Town, South Africa.
Job Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Technical Manager the incumbent will be responsible for the development of electrical systems layout, choice and ordering of materials, supervising installation for, but not limited to, the following:
Electrical Systems (24VDC, 220VAC, 600VDC),
Electrical Propulsion and
Electronic related aspects of systems (PLC).
The incumbent will assist the System Technical Coordinator in areas such as General Systems and Engine Room.
The incumbent will also undertake all the necessary sea trials needed for the yacht’s acceptance by the owner’s representative.
CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES
Educational:
A tertiary maritime technical qualification (e.g. 2nd engineer) from an accredited institution will be a distinct advantage.
Language:
Fluent in English
Technical experience:
At least 10 years related experience in the yacht building environment.
Recognised yachting qualifications will be an advantage.
Super yacht working experience of onboard systems (electrical and electronic PLC system, hydraulics, water makers, air conditioning, refrigeration etc.).
Personal:
Excellent leadership, organizational and administrative skills, initiative and ability to work under pressure.
Have excellent communicative (oral, written and computer (IT)) skills.
Be available to work outside normal working hours.
