The Southern Wind Sailing Academy is the natural extension of that commitment: a boutique training project designed to help you get the most out of every moment at sea. Every program is custom-built around you. Your goals, your level, your crew, and the experiences you want to unlock. [DOWNLOAD THE INFO BROCHURE](https://3gahd.share.hsforms.com/2kRcGZRglRAOHIgsDEz98Kg) --- ## WHAT WE DO The Academy offers tailored sailing education for passionate sailors who want to deepen their knowledge, sharpen their performance, and develop a more complete relationship with sailing yachts. We cover seamanship, performance sailing, race strategy, weather routing, and offshore passage planning. Whether you want to race more seriously, prepare your crew for a season, or simply experience a Southern Wind yacht at its full potential, we build the program around what you actually want. Our methodology is simple and proven: we brief, we execute, we debrief. Every day on the water builds on the last.   ![260529\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_DSC00537\_resize](https://pages.sws-yachts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00537_resize.jpg?width=1881&height=1257&name=260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00537_resize.jpg "260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00537_resize") ![IMG\_6867](https://pages.sws-yachts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/IMG_6867.jpg?width=2000&height=1333&name=IMG_6867.jpg "IMG_6867") ## WHO IT IS FOR SW SA is not a generic sailing school. It is built for passionate yachtsmen who want to deepen their seamanship, improve their performance at sea, and get more out of every sailing experience, whether they are part of the Southern Wind family or like-minded sailors who share our philosophy of the sea. ## WHO IS BEHIND IT The Academy is led by Southern Wind’s COO Andrea Micheli together with Matt Humphries, Technical Director of SW SA. Matt brings decades of offshore racing experience at the highest level, including five Volvo Ocean Race campaigns and race-winning navigations across the world's oceans. His relationship with Southern Wind spans nearly two decades, racing SW yachts in demanding conditions in serious races around the world. That experience is the foundation the Academy is built on. Every coaching team is comprised of professional sailors or highly experienced tutors, specifically selected for the chosen group, program, and venue.   ![260526\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_JR1\_8975\_resize](https://pages.sws-yachts.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260526_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_8975_resize.jpg?width=1368&height=1018&name=260526_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_8975_resize.jpg "260526_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_8975_resize") --- ## WHAT A TRAINING WITH US LOOKS LIKE No two academy experiences are the same. Each one begins with a conversation about what you are looking for. From there, we select the right yacht, the right coaching team, and the right venue. Programs have taken place aboard SW100s, on transatlantic crossings, at regattas, and on high-performance training platforms such as the Cape 31 and Infinity 36. ### PrEVIOUS ACADEMY EXPERIENCES ![260529\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_dji\_fly\_20260529\_143956\_0159\_1780058837551\_photo\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_dji_fly_20260529_143956_0159_1780058837551_photo_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_dji_fly_20260529_143956_0159_1780058837551_photo_resize.jpg) ![260529\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_DSC00626\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00626_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00626_resize.jpg) ![260529\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_AC2\_9207\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_AC2_9207_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_AC2_9207_resize.jpg) ![Voilier Southern Wind-31](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/Voilier%20Southern%20Wind-31.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=Voilier%20Southern%20Wind-31.jpg) ![SW94\_Windfall\_LoroPianaSuperYachtRegatta\_2013 (30)](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/SW94_Windfall_LoroPianaSuperYachtRegatta_2013%20(30).jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=SW94_Windfall_LoroPianaSuperYachtRegatta_2013%20(30).jpg) ![169\_AtlanticAll2012](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/169_AtlanticAll2012.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=169_AtlanticAll2012.jpg) ![selection pelagic32](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/selection%20pelagic32.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=selection%20pelagic32.jpg) ![IMG\_6867](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/IMG_6867.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=IMG_6867.jpg) ![260527\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_JR1\_0980\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_0980_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_0980_resize.jpg) ![260527\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_JR2\_3097\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR2_3097_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR2_3097_resize.jpg) ![260529\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_DSC00537\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00537_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260529_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_DSC00537_resize.jpg) ![260530\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_JR1\_2362\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260530_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_2362_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260530_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_2362_resize.jpg) ![260527\_SailingEnergy\_SW\_RENDEZVOUS\_JR1\_0991\_resize](https://5798929.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/5798929/hubfs/SW%20Sailing%20Academy/260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_0991_resize.jpg?width=1200&length=1200&name=260527_SailingEnergy_SW_RENDEZVOUS_JR1_0991_resize.jpg) --- ## START THE CONVERSATION If you are curious about what the Academy could offer you or your crew, we would love to hear from you.
