Job Description:

The organisation is looking for permanent employee to join our drawing office.
The successful candidate will be part of the Composite, Structure, CNC, laser projection, team among our
drawing office, tasked with the design and production drawings for all of team related aspects on our sailing
yachts.
This post is based at our manufacturing site in Athlone Industria, Cape Town.

Characteristics:

Regularly reporting to the Drawing Office Supervisor, the successful incumbent will:
- Be in close relation with Technical and production Coordinators
- Take into account specifications and keep updated on rules and regulations
- Be force of proposals to decision makers
- Produce 3D models of moulds, structure and composite parts, (i.e. hull, bulkheads, spars, ...)
using SolidWorks
- Use 3D models to check interaction with other departments (interior and systems)
- Produce 2D production drawings
- Liaise with sub-contractors and designer to insure design integration

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BEng / BSc Engineering degree, Naval architecture
  
  

  Experience/Technical:

• 3+ years’ experience working in composite industry. Marine industry experience is a strong plus.

• Experience in 3D parametric model (SolidWorks or equivalent) and 2D drawings (Autocad or equivalent) is required.

• Practical sailing Experience is a plus.
